The global cake decorating event Cake International returns to the NEC, Birmingham 4 – 6 November sponsored by Smartflex.
It is THE show for the cake decorating community…the pink carpet, rows upon rows of competition tables and seeing the judges, led by Head Judge David Close assessing the jaw-dropping entries can only mean one thing the world’s biggest and most renowned competition.

The feature displays are always breath taking and this year you can expect to see an array of features. The formidable Emma Jayne will be creating King Tut -100 years of Tutankhamun, which is bound to be equally as impressive as her previous features; in 2017 her viral War Horse was on display, in 2018 the Trapeze artist, in 2019 Iorek Byrnison from His Dark Materials, the life size polar bear was a sight to behold and most recently in 2021 Medusa.
As ever the CI theatre will be a hive of excitement with our host Rosie Cake Diva introducing our demonstrators and announcing our competition winners alongside Head Judge David Close.
For the first time Cake International is running alongside a brand new event Bake International sponsored by Renshaw. The new show is a must attend for both hobby and professional bakers, with an incredible line of celebrity bakers, big name brands and baking fun to keep you entertained all day.
Visitors attending the show can expect all things baking from bread to pastries and of course cake! Organisers have lined up some famous faces to attend the show and demo in the dedicated baking theatre.
Jane Dunn of Jane’s Patisserie is the record-breaking author of Jane’s Patisserie, the fastest-selling baking book of all time and third bestselling cookbook since records began. Don’t miss her on the opening day of the show, Friday 4th November hosting live demonstrations in the theatre!
Bread specialist Richard Bertinet is also attending the show on Friday. Richard originally trained as a baker in Brittany, now with 20 years’ experience baking, consulting and teaching. He was named as BBC Food Champion of the Year 2010, has published 6 books and founded The Bertinet Bakery in 2008- the UK’s first national artisan bakery with a range of products stocked in Waitrose. His demo will inspire your bread making and give you tips to take away and try at home.
Great British Bake Off fans will be pleased to see some familiar faces at the show with Chigs Parmar and Freya Cox both attending and demoing. Chigs Parmar is a self-taught baker and a huge foodie, recently appeared on The Great British Bake Off, were he received star baker twice and two Hollywood handshakes! Chigs went on to reach the final, after only learning to bake in the first lockdown. Having never thought he would get so far; he now wants to inspire people to take up new hobbies and do something they love! Freya Cox is a Yorkshire-born 19 year old, who has a passion for vegan baking! As seen on the latest series of The Great British Bake Off as their first vegan contestant. Freya wants to show the British public that delicious baking can be plant based.
A brand-new competition will also run with a choice of 6 categories for bakers to choose from.
