Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Valentine's 🥰💖

Today is all about the pancake... sweet or savoury? American or British? Traditional sugar and lemon or lashings of chocolate sauce? To flip or not to flip? Do you go all out and create cool designs in them? Should you eat them for every meal? Choose wisely dear friends...

If you've ever made a real cake look like a stack of pancakes we'd love to see! And in answer to the age old question “What's the best pancake topping?" it's simple... MORE pancakes!

We love our members and the support they give each other. One of our aims is to “share knowledge” and sometimes it’s not about swapping recipes or sugarcraft skills but the little things.

Over in our private member’s group The Sugarcraft Lounge this was a top tip ⬇️ and it got better, with others adding that wiping tubes with a damp cloth will leach the colour and that vanish soap is the best for cleaning colouring off hands!

What a brilliant idea 🤗

Hi everyone. In South Africa we have a bath soap by Lux. (Brand name) that removes colouring ftom hands too. It is also gentler than Vanish. The Vanish we get here is rather harsh on the hands.

Such sad news from a fantastic cake supplier. We wish everyone involved all the best with whatever the future holds. Its with a very heavy heart that we announce that our beloved business Windsor Craft has gone into liquidation as of 31st January 2024.

We are absolutely heartbroken that we were unable to ride the storm of the current climate and have put everything we possibly could into the business to try and protect it.

Unfortunately it does seem to be a sad sign of the times with small businesses struggling to make ends meet with constant rises in costs from suppliers and overheads just being too much to cover with such small margins. Any business owner will know that struggling with your business is financially, mentally and emotionally draining and we really have been through a rough time which has ultimately led to us closing the doors.

Over the years we have had so many happy times and I will carry the memories that i've had with this company, and all of the staff involved, for the rest of my life.

I would like to personally thank our loyal customers that have been shopping with us over the years and our amazing team of staff who I have literally grown up with over the past 14 years. Today was one of the hardest days that i've ever experienced.

At the moment, im going to take a breath and have some time to look after my two young girls who need their mum.

Please keep an eye on our page for any further updates, if you have a collection order with us we will be in touch to arrange delivery or collection of your order.

If you have any enquiries at all please message us on here and I will answer the best I can. Our shop will remain closed and our phones and website will be offline.

Thank you again,
Olivia x

I've always been a 'both' girl.... each layer gets a coating of chocolate ganache ( which fortifies the chocolatey-ness of the cake) topped with a Swiss meringue buttercream that be infused with whatever puree, toasted nut, liquor etc desired.

I usually go for a salted caramel buttercream or chocolate coffee ganache 😋😋

Love both 💛🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 💫

I would like to vote for both really 🙂

Clothe Dumpling all the way but after with our haggis, neeps & tatties (and a dram 🥃) we had cranachan. Delicious!

I regularly make bara brith, a family favourite for a long time now.

❤️

A recipe for both would be great

As a Welsh person I would like to say Bara Brith but being I didn’t taste the Scottish clothe dumplings I feel I couldn’t say., anyone got a recipe for the Scottish one.

Oh what a sleekit horrible beastie Lurks in yer belly efter the feastie Just as ye sit doon among yer kin There sterts to stir an enormous wind. The neeps and tatties and mushy peas Stert workin like a gentle breeze But soon the puddin wi the sauncie face Will have ye blawin’ all ower the place. Nae matter whit the hell ye dae A’bodys gonnae have tae pay Even if ye try to stifle, It’s like a bullet oot a rifle. Hawd yer bum tight tae the chair Tae try and stop the leakin air Shift yersel fae cheek tae cheek Prae tae God it doesnae reek. But aw yer efforts go assunder Oot it comes like a clap a thunder Ricochets aroon the room Michty me, a sonic boom! God almighty it fairly reeks; Hope I huvnae shit ma breeks Tae the bog I better scurry Aw whit the hell, its no ma worry. A’body roon aboot me chokin, Wan or two are nearly bokin I’ll feel better for a while Cannae help but raise a smile. Wis him! I shout with accusin glower, Alas too late, he’s just keeled ower Ye dirty bugger they shout and stare I dinnae feel welcome any mair. Where ere ye go let yer wind gan free Sounds like just the job fur me Whit a fuss at Rabbie's perty Ower the sake o won wee ferty.

To celebrate #NationalMarzipanDay we've taken a look back to Cake International 2018 to see some cute marzipan models for inspiration but maybe we should stick with something super easy to model (and that always remind us of Grandmas!), marzipan fruits. Yum, Yum...

They might not count towards your 5-a-day but #FunFactFriday, marzipan use to be sold as a medicine as it was believed to be beneficial for the brain - that's a good enough reason for us to eat it more often!

6 years old! Top tier of our wedding cake, kept for my daughter’s christening. Icing & marzipan were replaced, but cake was still lovely 😊 xx

One of my wedding cake couples messaged me a couple of years ago to say they’d finally tucked into their top tier about 8 years after the wedding (and that it still tastes good!).

8 years old is the oldest I've had! I made it to ! Still tasted frest !

12 years. Top tier of my wedding cake. I think a bit more alcohol would have improved it's keeping qualities (teetotal Methodist based family...) It didn't taste bad, it just didn't taste like fresh fruit cake!

🎁It’s Christmas!🎁

Whoop! The big day is finally here, and we hope you are full of Christmas cheer!

We’ve no treat or share or prize today, instead all that is left for us to say is MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL.
