Learn more about the Sugarcraft Insurance policy...

The policy is available to resident UK Individual and Branch members only. The insurance is offered as an ‘umbrella policy’ which means that the BSG has one policy which members may pay to join into; therefore, the cover has fixed start and end dates each year. The insurance year always commences on 1st May and expires on 30th April. You can join at any time during the year, but the premium and expiry date remain the same. The premium includes Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the prevailing rate and an administration fee. For full information including limitations to this cover please read the Statement of Fact, the Insurance Information Sheet or contact BSG National Office.

Demonstrator Training

Demonstrations are an important part of BSG activities and provide entertainment and instruction at Branch meetings.

The Demonstrator Training Scheme is for UK resident British Sugarcraft Guild adult members and helps those interested to learn the demonstration skills required to qualify as a BSG Accredited Demonstrator.

Before joining the scheme good sugarcraft skills are essential, followed closely by an interest in the developing of demonstration expertise and confidence to a professional level.

Our aim is to provide high quality and skilled demonstrations for presentation to Branches at their meetings and at exhibitions, etc. Trainees wishing to become BSG Accredited Demonstrators are supported throughout their training period by Demonstrator Training Team members who actively teach, support and guide them.

Judges

The BSG has a panel of industry-respected judges, and our judging system has been perfected over many years. BSG judges are very sought after by other organisations for officiating at their competitions.

Our judges are trained from within the membership and are talented members who have won a number of awards in BSG competitions.

Edition 3 of the ‘Competitor Guidelines’ booklet is available to purchase in the BSG Online Store.

Members with Editions 1 & 2 of the booklet may update their copy by downloading the amendments sheet.
